its a BMW some try to say that means bavarian motor works but those of us who drive the E chasis still know it means BRING MY WALLET! but its a higher-performing car so you are gonna have higher maintenance tasks to keep it optimal the higher those tasks the more they tend to cost not just in dollars but if you are DIY it its gonnal take all your free time some weeks months and maybe years depending on just how far down the rabbit hole you wanna go. if you are looking for a low cost motoring option get a civic and be bored, but if you are a car loving fool get the bmw say goodby to your friends who are all driving their front wheel drive cars on a straight boring freeway; and get used to spending your time on the long twisting country roads so a 30 min drive now takes you three hours or you will be in a shop cause the slightest thing off in a ultimate driving machine will demand getting fixed ASAP so you can get back to the motoring bliss of BMW ownership. and yeah its a beemer so suck it up you gotta pay to play.
It all depends on how many kms has the car been driven for and how many years old it is. The basic service in which all the filters and oils are changed, as well as an inspection and wash and clean up will cost anywhere from ₹15,000-₹25,000/- from the authorised service centre of BMW. After the 50,000–60,000kms mark, more major parts require changing, such as brake rotors and pads, transmission oil, and so on. The service costs then are upwards of ₹70,000 and can go upto ₹1,00,000 with ease. My suggestion to any current or future BMW owners would be to get the car serviced with the authoritised service centre till the car is under warranty. After the warranty (original or extended) gets expired, getting the car serviced with an independent mechanic/garage makes much more sense. It turns out to be really economical, and if the mechanic is well versed with the cars, everything goes smooth as well. Hope that answers your question, do let me know if there is anything else you'd want to know about cars. Cheers!

I think Jaguar would also have same kind of maintenance cost, because it is world of competition. I hope you got your answer Keep driving
My uncle bought a BMW 320d luxury line here in Ahmedabad (A city situated in the state of Gujarat, India). Maintenance costs which occurred every year were- Insurance renewal- 88,000 for the second year. This cost will keep on decreasing provided there is no insurance claim for the previous year. Servicing- The car has one service a year which costs approximately 24,000. Only the 4th or 5th service ( I don't remember exactly which one) is costly as most of the car parts are replaced. That service will cost you around 65-70,000. Other costs include the diesel costs, now that will depend on how much you drive the car so I wont be able to predict that cost.
Hey! Usually maintenance packages are cheaper than the individual services you would normally perform, that being said, the 2016 models are still brand new, so in theory they should only cost as much as oil changes, every recommended interval. If you can do the oil changes yourself, I would recommend against the maintenance package because that would be the cheapest route. Also from a financial perspective, have your friend consider a 2013 or 2014 328, or even an M3 at that vintage!
The annual maintenance cost of a BMW car isn’t a lot (contrary to popular belief) actually. Luxury cars like BMW only ask for only one service in 12 months time or 15,000 kms. The authorised service centres of these high end cars may charge a ton of money even for regular periodic maintenance. Only in a couple of instances, the periodic maintenance is slightly costly for e.g. at 60,000 kms/100,000 kms. But a trusted third party service provider can help you save a lot of money and do the same job at a fraction of the price without compromising on the quality.
This is the question of the decade. There isn't a right or wrong answer on this one but we have to first understand that the aforementioned luxury brands listed are all expensive to maintain, period. It all comes down to the following questions.. 1: Are you going to lease or buy? 2: Are you buying new or used? If you're going to purchase new or lease new then anyone of the above are an excellent choice. It just comes down to the one you like the most. If you are purchasing used, then they all will cost you money to maintain especially out of warranty. The most expensive label would be in my experienced opinion the BMW. For me, they have been the most problematic vehicle I've ever owned and driven. Fantastic machine when everything works like it should but to keep it running like new, you will have to fork out money especially after 60k miles. The least maintenance/repairs would be the benz, jaguar then audi. Again, this is strictly from my experience. Jaguar has come a long way from what it used to be and they really are up there in reliability. I believe last year's top 5 most reliable was Lexus, Porsche (tied for first) Mercedes, Toyota, Buick and then Jaguar. Something like that. Once again, it all comes down to what you can afford and if it's going to be new or used. If you're purchasing used, I'd go with Mercedes. Just from what I've experienced. I own, or have owned all the above. Just in case anyone feels I'm biased by picking Mercedes. Good luck with your search.
