What are your thoughts on Mercedes overtaking BMW as the larget premium carmaker?

It ,was bound to happen,. The ,design refresh, of the entire range ,of Mercedes Benz, along with a ,wide range of options to personalise and spec your car to the dot, gave them the edge over the more driver centric, yet standardised BMW. Now I know that looks are subjective, but which one of these two looks more upmarket ? Yeah. BMW will get on the numbers game with the new 7-series and the 5-series looking equally promising. The 2017 G30 BMW 5 - Series. The BMW M2 has been established as the best driver's sports car. The 3-series with a G design refresh (similar to the G30 5-series) would surely do better if the 7-series and the 5-series series are anything to go by. But ,I think that the lead Mercedes Benz gained over BMW is mainly due to hyperconsumerism and that it has nothing to do with brand superiority. Sustaining these numbers will be the main corporate agenda (of Mercedes Benz), from now on, ,cause they've got a lot right to get to this position,. ,Incremental decisions have already been taken,. Their ,involvement in the Pan-asian countries, is on a significant scale, (much larger than BMW and Audi). The ,R&D of Mercedes Benz is burning through insane amounts of cash, (,to the tune of €3Billion a year. That's close to €10Million a day,). The ,expanded model line ups with highly customisable options lists ,offer a variety of Mercedes Benz vehicles for everyone. Cars like ,CLA-Class and the A-Class, ,were game-changers,, making this premium brand affordable to a much larger consumer base. These are the ,incremental decisions that were taken beforehand, (By Mercedes Benz) to enjoy a success of this magnitude.

Which brand of car is better, Mercedes or BMW?

If it were the good old days, there would have been a definite answer, but things have changed now. Both of these automakers are at the top of their game,. Both of these brands offer tech that's yet to be seen in other manufacturer’s vehicles (with the exception of Audi, which stands in the competition). So instead of trying to state which is better, ,I'll, ,illuminate the unique features of both the brands along with their design ethos. BMW This ,Bavarian car maker, started out to make the best driver's cars. Their tagline states “,The ultimate driving machine,” to this day and with good reason. The ,Brand's emphasis has always been on the driving experience,. The fine tuning of the chassis, the supple yet sporty suspension setups along with aggressive looking body work are all a typical BMW affair Th,at's, the 2016 BMW 320d. A classic example of typical BMW design. The ,interiors are premium, but are just not at the level of Mercedes Benz,. This is more evident when you look at the 3-series (F30) and the C-Class (w205). The interiors of the 2017 BMW 7-series “Individual”. This competes with the Mercedes Maybach s600. You think this is nice ? Check out it’s competition. The interiors of a Mercedes Maybach s600 sedan. The ,design is much sportier, to accentuate the appeal of a driver's car. A regular BMW 320d with the “M”-sport package. The lines are sharp with the design more angular than Mercedes Benz. Recently, BMW took shine to the new “,Layered design,” philosophy that received mixed reactions. BMW’s “,M,” division made some of the best driver's cars in the past, however, ,that's not the case anymore,. With the exception of the M2,, the cars have grown heavier with the downsizing of the engines and the addition of a turbocharger that resulted in more lag than top end performance. BMW has an independent electric hybrid model range,. The i3 and the more expensive i8. These eHybrids come with futuristic design language and give good fuel consumption efficiency. BMW also worked on ,battery powered keys,. This is first seen on the ,BMW i8,, and then trickled down to the ,new 7-series,. I agree, for an enthusiast, this is nothing but a gimmick, but the regular consumer base shows great response to stuff like that. Mercedes Benz This brand was the one ,responsible for the invention of a motor powered car,. (Ford Model T was the first mass produced vehicle). These manufactures have so many industry firsts under their belt. MB’s tagline “,the best or nothing,” should give an insight on how this car maker operates. The ,body and the chassis along with the suspension is setup for ride quality & comfort rather than outright driving dynamics,. The ,body work, is much more refined and stately, with ,soft swathing lines all over. The Mercedes Benz C -class (w205) Mercedes Benz takes the cake where the interiors are concerned,. BMW vs Mercedes Benz, typical cabins. Best in class finishes without skimping on premium materials (like metal, wood and leather). ,The attention to detail is much better than a BMW,. This interior ,invokes a sense of occasion every time you step in,. Sadly, the same can't be said for BMW. The design R&D at Mercedes Benz took to a new form, with those ,Coupè-ish lines and less angular bits to accentuate the length and width of the car,. The 2017 Mercedes Benz C-Class, E - Class and the S - Class. Good luck figuring out which is which. This swelte frame design was well received, albeit ,making the model differentiation that much difficult for the masses. Mercedes’s “,AMG,” division ,never set out to make the best driver's cars. They just wanted to make their standard models more exciting to drive and to look at,. I'd say that ,the in-house tuning firm accomplished just that,. I mean, you don't need a 612ps V8 Luxury sedan (,2017 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG s,), but you would want one, wouldn't you ? Mercedes Benz ,does not have a standalone hybrid range,, but offers an option of Hybrid powerplants in some countries with their higher end sedans (the C200, E320 and the S320 BlueEFFICIENCY models). They also ,made the completely electric SLS AMG, ,E-cell ,that runs on four individual electric motors (one per wheel) alone, Mercedes Benz ,pioneered safety features like SONAR, nightvision using IR, Pre-SAFE assist, active brake assist, lane monitoring, radar assisted cruise control, and many more. BMW,,, in all its glory, doesn't come with this kind of tech. To conclude, Mercedes Benz is a better owner's car while BMW is a better driver's car. The difference of how much better the BMW is to drive over Mercedes Benz is negligible, ,in current times but the tech Mercedes Benz packs in, by any means, is not“negligible”. Which is better ? You be the judge.

What is the best car in terms of overall performance and in each class category (ignoring its price) in Asphalt 8?

If you are ready to ignore price and pay, I will suggest go for: D Class - Mazda RX8 (excellent for events) & Renault Dezire ( for Multiplayer) C Class - Range Rover Evoque (One of the best for multiplayer), Lamborghini Miura & Sbarro Sparta (for events) B Class - BMW M2 SE (Overall) & Holden Coupe (Tune it well & it’s a multiplayer Beast). A Class - Sin R1 (Overall), Camaro, Hommage, Merc SLK SE, Corvette GS ( all these are game kings for multiplayer). S Class - Now we have Apollo SE which is not on sale so 2nd best is Vulcan (Overall Game king After Apollo SE).

Should I buy a BMW M2, Porsche Macan S or a GLE 450?

Well it really depends on what YOU want. Everyone loves the M2 - BMW seems to be back on its game and the car is described as the spiritual successor to the much loved E46 M3. The Macan is a lovely set of wheels and the variant you propose is very nice for something built on the bones of the VW Tiguan. Personally I would pass on the Benz - they haven't offered anything in quite a while that I would want in my driveway. Fine cars but not to my taste.

If you had the money, would you buy the new 2020 Toyota Supra?

Let me preface this by saying I wouldn’t by any means consider myself a Supra fanboy. Yes, I would and am considering doing so. The only complaint from people (most of whom couldn’t buy the car anyway) that I can sort of agree with is that maybe the Supra badge wasn’t the perfect choice for this car. That being said, I’d rather have this than a MK4 v2. The last car is known as the ultimate project, with an engine that’s easily modded and tunable. That being said, the MK5 has a 50:50 weight distribution that, according to a vast majority of automotive journalists, allows it to handle so well, it has a shot of giving its target car (Porsche Cayman) a run for its money. The power is a big argument that comes up a lot, too. They say the previous-gen Supra had 320 hp and 315 lb/ft, and this one only has 335 hp and 365 lb/ft. However, new dyno tests reveal that the Supra actually produces 339 hp and 427 lb/ft at the wheels, and accounting for 15% drivetrain loss, power at the flywheel is 399 hp and 502 lb/ft. The dyno for a standard M2 shows that it produces 348 hp and 383 lb/ft at the wheels, barely beating the Supra’s horsepower but getting shattered by its torque. Starting at $54,500, the standard M2 costs 10% more than the Supra’s base model, but other than back seats, you could say the M2 doesn’t really have anything significant over the Supra. This is why you’ll hear some of the defendants of the new Supra acknowledge it as the cheapest way to own an M-car, especially considering the M2 in the US is now only offered as a competition model, starting it closer to $59,000. Now the elephant in the room: it’s true, Toyota did not develop the motor or chassis for this car, and that it is entirely BMW in regards to initial development. However, Toyota didn’t hold back when they put BMW’s B58 and chassis through a series of tests. They were very open in expressing any concerns they had and wanted to guarantee that the Supra would not compromise Toyota’s famous reliability standards. Tada-san, the chief engineer of the Supra, made it clear that Toyota partnered with BMW to make the Supra a mid-price sports car, as developing everything from scratch would push this car’s price very close to the $100k price range. Toyota didn’t have to make this car (and you’ll hear people say they wish they hadn’t) but wanted to remind everyone that Toyota can develop a kick-ass sports car. Yes, they used the power-plant and chassis from another automaker, but this car drives nothing like its distant brother, the Z4. The interior doesn’t bother me much, because I care little for the modern Japanese interior and find that BMW makes a much more usable and livable interior. The exterior for me is pretty good, and I feel the aftermarket will finish off the last little bit. The front end could use a little more aggression in my opinion, but regardless I’m really excited to see what exterior part manufacturers come up with. All in all, I think the car is incredible, and so do a lot of automotive journalists. If you’ve been watching/reading the reviews online, you’ll probably have found the overwhelming acceptance this car has received as a great car to drive. The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on it is I’m already replacing one car for a daily driver. Getting a second car this quickly may not be the most responsible decisions so I’m giving myself a mandatory cooldown period. If they announce a 6-speed version though (my only true grief with this car is that it isn’t already an option) then it’s game over for me and I’m going to rush to my closest Toyota dealership to throw my money at them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What is a flaw of BMW?

BMW knows they’re behind brands like Tesla in the EV game, and they’re afraid. They want to appeal to young people (who happen to be most of Tesla’s customers), so they act all fly and progressive by their extremely aggressive and disastrous PR strategy (calling all the people who criticise the disgusting iX “boomers”, making fun of the old 7 series, using the coronavirus to promote their i-brand cars). This doesn’t help the fact that most of the current BMW customers are actual “boomers”. Continuing on their PR department, being a car brand that has made many cars before that appeal to enthusiasts, the PR people must know about their cars, and unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case with the US division, as they’ve put the sound of a Lamborghini V10 engine over footage of their M2 CS. Their designs are also another big issue. Adrian van Hooydonk being completely blind and a bell end is a completely plausible explanation, but the main reason is the Chinese. The Chinese are some of the most tasteless people on Earth, and they are also some of the biggest customers of BMWs (especially in the 7 series). They like massive and bling stuff. To lick the sweet dew off China’s sweatcrack, they enlarge the grilles to horrific proportions, turning the kidney grilles into tumor grilles, then flip the bird towards all their other customers. The enthusiasts have supported BMW back when the Chinese weren’t allowed to buy a car and could only have an ox. This just makes BMW seem like a bunch of ingrates. Lastly, they seem to be confused with how their performance cars should be. Audi has made a massive leap with their new RS6, Mercedes has made the excellent AMG GT63S and the AMG GT black series. BMW? The M8 competition that seems to be confused whether it wants to be a GT car or a full blooded sports car like the 911, and ends up being neither. Too harsh to be a long distance cruiser, too fat to be a sports car. Same with the X4M and X6M. Very fast and loud, but not fun and rides like a space hopper. Granted, they made the M2 CS and are making the M3 touring (at long last), but the other performance cars they make have lost their charm.

Have you ever worn driving gloves? If so, why?

I drive a BMW M2, with a few upgrades. I opted for an alcantara steering wheel with shift lights. It’s a gorgeous wheel and feels like your in a video game. I wear driving gloves every time I drive, it helps prevent the alcantara from getting dirty with my hand oil, also it helps me grip the wheel better when I’m driving like an idiot :)

What's the most realistic WWII movie?

Schindler's List,: I'd go with this: the arbitrariness, the randomness, and the waste. (Define what's real about war?) One of the scenes during the initial Polish invasion was lining up a string of Jews and shooting one round point blank to see how many would be killed by penetration and at which body depth would be alive. Major realism. The Longest Day, was Ryan's anti-war movie (Cornelis not Robert who played Gavin too old for the youngest general). My old man who landed at Utah Beah wasn't impressed. ,Saving ... Ryan, would ,not, have impressed my old man as he would have said the mission was completely unrealistic (which was said by one of the guys ("Hey I'm somebody's son..."). The outcome of the War was not assured (this is why they are called the infantry; they are expendable). I know Vietnam guys note that flame throwers don't explode as they showed (this is not the only film which portrays that (mine or artillery in some cases)). This paragraph might be a counter or anti-list. I'm somewhat certain that dad would also down vote Coppola's ,Patton,. He'd say that the words/quotes were there, but not the full context (like he thought Patton should have slapped the soldier in Italy). Das Boot:, to a certain degree for grit next to X-mas dinner. Real events: in many cases the victors get to tell the story. Let me suggest a few films the viewer seriously has to go out of their way to see for realism: To Hell and Back,: this is the story of the most decorated US soldier who faked his age and won a Medal of Honor, and after the war became a movie star: his name was Audie Murphy. He mostly tried to keep his movie of his story honest (reenactment pushed by Hollywood). He's a contrast to what happened later in Korea and Vietnam. One of the real guys on the 101st ,Band of Bros, would have said about Murphy that it was a different time back then (Lester Hashey). Go for Broke,: WWII began with relatives interned, then drafted and then having to fight in Italy and Southern France (less glamous back waters seen by some). No US Army Division wanted them. Some of the real guys played themselves; not individual heroes, collective heros. Another segregated Army pro-propaganda film was ,Red Ball Express, about the black logistics drivers to mostly supply fuel to Patton's 3rd Army. PT-109,. A Disney film about John F. Kennedy who would go on to be President. It was his defining incident. My dad would say that the film to see this with (while a John Wayne film) should be ,They were Expendable,, because that's really what war is about. I'd like to suggest a Soviet, German Eastern front film, but I'm not knowledgeable enough. I've seen 1-2. As for realism, I think Jack Palance (who played Curly in City Slickers) played a guy with a bazooka run over his arm by a tank in ,Attack!, People seem to like Casablanca made during WWII, but Bogart did a somewhat intense film ,Sahara, also before the end of WWII about stopping a portion of the Africa Korps advance. Norwegian friends hate the Kirk Douglas combo story about ,Heroes of Telemark, about keeping the Germans from accumulating heavy water. Douglas played a fictious scientist who weaves together the various parts of the real story. But a similar docudrama has versions of the same scenes in a disconnected fashion (this is similar to what ,Imitation Game, does with compartmentalized secret facilities). A version of the ski battle/chase took place. Many of those post-WWII Hollywood actors and film makers were decorated fighters. Many guys from the Vietnam era cited the TV show ,Combat!, as a model for small group leadership. Too bad it was about the European Theater of Operation and not the Pacific. Realistic? My old man watched it, but probably many aspects weren't realistic just interesting enough for him to watch. I'm not certain yet what I would recommend from the Pacific (except ,109,). I've certainly seen the series ,The Pacific,, and I saw both of Eastwood's recent films and know the story of Ira Hayes from his earlier film. I was not impressed by Malek's ,Thin Red Line. David Lean has a great film maker, story teller (inspired Spielberg as well as a college roommate to read ,Seven Pillars of Wisdom, (WW1 story)). He adapted Pierre B.’s novel ,Bridge on the River Kwai,. It wasn’t quite like that, but as a made film, it should also be watched. I should also make a personal note. A few years back when I had to take defensive fire arms training for Alaska trips, I took an old NRA member office mate to a machine gun shoot (he wanted to shoot an Uzi for once in his life (Las Vegas, many foreign visitors do because of restrictive gun laws in their home countries, totally legal)). I went to a couple more. Why not? I’m an adult American taxpayer. It’s a way to spend bursts of money like $500s in a half our or in one case $200s of ammo in 2 seconds (M-134 mini-gun). These are about the same rate as legal prostitution. It was interesting to use some of the weapons used by these actors. A classic Thompson sub-machine gun has a greater heft than other similar weapons. I’m upraised the British didn’t lose WW2 because of the Sten. The MP40 and MG42 were like driving a BMW. The Allies won the war by absorbing more rounds than the Reich and Rising Sun could produce. The bulk of the credit has to go to the Soviets with the US being a backdoor providing them with needed materiel (AK highway). While I also used Ma Deuces (M2) .50 with tracer and M79 grenade (Vietnam era) launchers, my person favorite has to be the man portable flame thrower (my Facebook showed the first time and a video is on youtube for the 3rd time). It’s an engineer’s weapon (friends in the chemical corps used to train people) and a hackers weapon. I want one. A real one. Not Musk’s. Gaming does not preparing you for any of this. I also spent a long of time in VA hospitals and American Legion halls (including especially Post 43 (Hollywood, CA), so I have been exposed to film making and all films are not realistic to some degree). I heard tales of storming the cliffs at Port du Hoc. And recently I was made an honorary member of the Sierra Nevada chapter of the 10th Mtn. Div. Association. Be prepared to spend a lot of money as an adult, should you want to sample. So this is a short list to consider. Many more WWII films.
