What are the advantages and disadvantages when buying a used 2012 car vs. a 2017 car?

He bought cheap but then slowly modify/replace/maintain it. I would say, 4k for the car, 4k for the mods/maintainece but it depends on what you plan to do with the car. Basic maintaince should not past 1,000 dollars in 3 years unless tires are changed Thus, it boils down to your financial pillar thickness :) and your financial planning.
