USED UNDERDOG! We take a closer look at the Renault Laguna Coupé (2010-2012) as a second-hand buy, with the unpleasantries of depreciation now behind it... https://t.co/pQCvmGGLJG https://t.co/KVeEbdta4L

The Renault Laguna Coupe arrived at UK showrooms in January 2009 after it was unveiled at Paris Motor Show in October 2008. In 2011 Renault deleted a whole series of slow selling models completely from their UK line-up including the Lagunas & Modus & Kangoo MPV & Espace https://t.co/4ArlxlZ5GQ

What are the cars of choice for each 12 rashis/zodiac signs and even 27 lunar houses/nakshatras?

Note: Some of the cars i picked are outdated because i have no choice then Aries/Mesha: Goes something wooly but fiery just like its mascot, both planets have the same element (Mars and Sun) and since its cardinal fire so does the traits, a Brexiting British Triumph Spitfire (hence its lighter weight), a Nissan 200SX S13 and S14, a Mitsubishi Lancer (lancer is also a name of a soldier who holds a lance) or a Chrysler Crossfire (ever since it owns Dodge as the carmaker recognizable for its logo being a ram) can heat things up just as its name. Taurus/Vrishabha: Goes something that influences its mascot so does the traits as a sign where Venus is ruled, Mars is detriment and the Moon is exalted. Some Mercedes, BMW, Audi, or even a Ford Taurus which is big as the sign so does a Ford Scorpio, which named after its polar opposite which means “opposites attract”. Gemini/Mithuna: Mercury rules them but an Audi A3 (even though its luxurious) or an Isuzu Gemini so does a Peugeot 205/206/207…. The lion is the Peugeot’s badge (which also relates to Leo’s mascot, also Leo is compatible with the twins) and that means the twins will blow its mane away. Cancer/Karka: Ruled by Moon but falled by Mars means that the crab must drive ,normal, like a Toyota (whose logo looks like a crab), Subaru (don’t pick the WRX!), Hyundai, Kia (both of their logos are just like the crab’s body), etc…. Leo/Simha: Sun rules it, no zenith like Gemini means that a car must suit the lion’s egoistic/centrist ways just like in Aries or Taurus but i chose instead is a Peugeot nor some Nissan Sunny even though Leo prefers cars that has prestige at all… Virgo/Kanya: Something ,service-oriented, but may drive like a Cancer (another sign which falls Mars, similar to Venus, which is fallen in the Maiden’s sign) but the Virgin/Maiden may prefer something American even though it’s ,service-minded, like a Chevy, Opel Vectra (even though it is not but historically yes), Ford Fusion, etc. Libra/Tula: Sun is fallen and Saturn exalts means the scales needs a car similar to Virgo but more likely a Volkswagen Type 2 or a Renault Trafic (Tata rebadged it as the ,Tata Winger, so does the name referencing to what Libra looks like, an air sign so does a bird needs air as well) Scorpio/Vrischika: Some think that its ruled by Mars, some think its ruled by Pluto and the scorpion preferes a car that is shaped like its mascot like some tuned-up VW Beetle (old or new but Scorpion may sting it out) or even a Chrysler Viper to which its name said it all (as viper and scorpion are both venomous creatures). How about some Alfa Romeo or a Mitsubishi Starion, 3000GT or the Eclipse so does their spiritual siblings the Nissan 200SX S13 (S12 is Silvia) and the 300ZX BTW? Sagittarius/Dhanu: SUVs, nothing to think of because Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter but has no zenith at all Capricorn/Makara: Saturn rules, Moon is detriment, Mars exalts and Jupiter falls there means that the goat or the dragon chooses the right car that can say many things like being loner, successful or whatever but also the Capricorn struggles to finish the job early since words must not use it as a weapon so i prefer something like a Chrysler Stratus, Nissan Primera and its “spiritual” sibling the Mitsubishi Galant and the Lancer too, Peugeot 605, etc. Aquarius/Kumbha: It’s like Libra because Sun falls there too so does Virgo as well but i prefer the Ford Probe because since not only Aquarius opposes Leo, but it’s known to be the sign of humanity, innovation, oddity and others whereas the Probe is an anagram of the word ,pobre, means ,poor, in Spanish and ,thanks ,to its recognition for being ,world-class ,just as the serving sign… Pisces/Meena: Some say Jupiter rules, some say Neptune rules but Venus exalts and Mercury falls since the fish needs a car that may suit its lack of reality or even precision, they may look something Mainland European like a French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish or even a Czech car. Also, they may prefer something that is just like Scorpio too, a car that looks just like its mascot and that is the fish like the Mitsubishi 3000GT/Eclipse, Mercedes-Benz SL, Hyundai Coupe aka Tiburon or Genesis, Renault Laguna, Dodge Avenger/Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler Stratus, Chrysler Vision so does its relative, the Dodge Interpid, etc.

Most cars claim better mileage with automatics vs manual, so why would I ever pick a manual transmission?

This has only become true relatively recently. The first three automatics I drove in the 60s and 70s were a Jaguar, a Rover and a Ford. All,of the used the same Borg Warner type 35 three speed automatic. All of them were slower and less economical than the manual equivalent. The Rover actually became the first automatic I owned. Fast forward to the late 90s, and several manual cars later, and I bought my second automatic, a Renault Laguna. This had a 4 speed electronically controlled transmission made by Renault and which was matched specifically to that engine. This was just as fast as the manual and gave nothing away in fuel economy either. I bought another one of these in 2006, a couple of generations later in the development of the car and by now it had a lock up torque converter and was able simulate a 5 speed by using torque converter slip and lockup to “stretch” 3rd gear, which was a much taller ratio than 2nd. This car sacrificed a little top speed compared to the manual in order to get better fuel consumption. Now jump top 2015 and I part exchange my beloved Mazda MX5 against a Mercedes C220CDI AMG Sport coupé. This four seater coupe would happily out drag and beat the Mazda on maximum speed whilst carrying four people and all their luggage. It also did twice as many mog thanks to the twin turbo Diesel engine. It had a 7 speed automatic with a lock up torque converter which could lock up in all 7 gears, had multiple shift patterns and had the engine doing 1800rpm at 80mph. In theory you could get that car with a 6 speed manual which was slower 0–60mph, lower top speed, worse mpg and higher exhaust emissions and hence liable to more vehicle tax in the U.K. I’ve never, ever, seen one. I’ve recently part-ex’ed it against a 2017 year model four door saloon which is faster ,and, more economical. Why do people buy manuals? If you know what you’re doing they can be more fun and more rewarding to drive. I would never have considered buying my MX5 as an auto for exactly that reason. A manual transmission is also much simpler mechanically, and therefore easier to repair, and also weighs less. That said, in over 40 years of car ownership I have never had a transmission of any type fail. Historically it was common (outside the USA at least) for auto to only be an option with certain engines and not available at all on smaller cars. It’s still true that many small cars are manual only, though CVTs are becoming more common in that usage range,
