Reddit has a good list from ,http://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/wiki/faq,: Primarily, something you feel comfortable riding and not overwhelmed. Recommendations: Anything 600cc or less, with the exception of 600cc inline four sports bikes (i.e. not CBR600s, YZF-R6s, GSX-R600s and the like). Please don't start on a Hayabusa. A few motorcycles that are worth looking into for beginners: Standard, Honda CB500F Honda CB 350/400/750 Honda Grom Kawasaki ER-6N KTM Duke 390 Suzuki TU-250 Suzuki GW250 Suzuki GS500 (ER-5) Suzuki Bandit 400 Suzuki SV650/Gladius/SFV650 Triumph Bonneville/Scrambler/Thruxton ,Sport, Honda CBR250R Honda CBR500R Kawasaki Ninja 250R (EX250) Kawasaki Ninja 300 Kawasaki Ninja 500 (EX500) Kawasaki Ninja 650R (ER6f) ,Dual-Sport/Adventure, BMW G 650 GS Honda CRF250L Honda CB500X Honda NC700X Kawasaki KLR650 Kawasaki Versys (KLE650) Suzuki DRZ-400 Suzuki V-Strom 650 (DL650) Yamaha WR250 ,Cruiser, Honda Rebel 250 Honda Shadow 600 Honda Shadow 750 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Yamaha Virago 750 Yamaha Star Bolt
Automatic transmissions on motorcycles are exceedingly rare on full-size motorcycles, but they do exist. Honda (NC700X, CTX700, VFR1200F), Harley-Davidson, Ridley, Aprilia (Mana 850), and Can-Am all offer automatic transmissions, and the majority of these have manual overrides. Why aren't there more? I suspect there just isn't the demand for it. Most people who are willing to learn to ride are also willing to learn a manual transmission, and typically are the sort to appreciate the mechanical simplicity and lower weight of a manual.
Check out the Honda NC700X. Plenty of leftovers that you should be able to hit your price point. I’d splurge and try to find one with ABS. The Dual Clutch transmission is also a real bonus. Lots of torque, fantastic fuel economy, very simple maintenance, and Honda reliability.
Honda NC700X, ,Honda mid size CTX700, ,Aprilia Mana 850, ,Ridley CVT bikes Just Google it bro jeanknowscars.com not mentioning data due to lack of mine hard work on this topic.
I don't pretend to have the absolute answer on that (after all, there are quite a lot of motorcycles on the global market) but certainly a lot of impression was made when Honda launched its new 700cc engine in the NC700 series of bikes in 2012. Riders are reporting very impressive mileage for a full sized bike, with most getting mid-high 60 mpg and some getting as high as the high 70 mpg. See ,Honda NC700X MPG Reports,.
If you are a beginner, you are best off with a Street 750 or Sportster. Weight and manoeuvrability are the key factors. Having said that, the best current motorcycle for combining city and touring functionality is probably the Yamaha FZ-07. Also consider the Honda NC700X and the Suzuki SV650. Or a midsize dual-sport like the BMW F700/800 GS series, or the Triumph Tiger 800. If you are set on the retro look, there is also the Triumph Bonneville or the Moto Guzzi V9.
A 2017 Zero S with the ZF 13.0 battery pack. I got it because I wanted to commute on a motorcycle around 35–50 miles a day. I hated the clutch and shifter on the TU250 at the MSF class, so I decided to get a bike with an automatic or direct drive transmission. That gave me four options: Aprilia Mana - No longer sold in the US, and the CVT belt has to be replaced around every 8–10k miles. Honda NC700X - Did not like the style. African Twin DCT Zero SR or S I was torn between the Africa Twin and the Zero, but ended up going with the Zero because it has no power-train maintenance, no chain maintenance, no break-in period, is lighter weight, more street biased, has tubeless tires, does not need to warm up, does not need gas, and it has a frunk. I also liked the Zero because I could dial the torque down while learning to ride, and increase the torque as I gained confidence and skill. Originally I was going to go with an SR but then asked myself: Do I really need the monstrous torque of the SR? Most of my riding was going to be at speed, and as a beginner that much torque could get me injured or killed. I found the yellow color of the S more attractive, and the S was $2,000 cheaper. So I went with the S. So far I have put 5300 miles on it (since late May 2017) and have no regrets. Riding in traffic is a breeze. I can take corners as hard as I want, and the tires stick like glue. I have done no maintenance other than making sure the tires are at the correct pressure. I will need new tires in another 500 to 1000 miles, but that is it. I know there are people who balk at the price and range of the Zeros, but there are cons to any purchase. For me the range is not an issue because I commute 35 miles a day. I also take longer rides on the weekend, and by the time the battery gets low I’m starting to feel cramped. The price is competitive if you factor in the suspension, ABS, torque, and overall build quality. You pay more up front, but save over time. The insurance is also cheap, which is a plus.
Rode a few in the last couple of years prior to retiring from Honda House, and was very impressed with the bike. It’s the closest thing I’ve ridden to the old BMW K75C I owned about a decade and a half ago. A decently light, competent although unexciting, one-up tourer that’ll take you across the country in fine style and comfort, give excellent fuel mileage, and will even handle dirt roads and very light off roading competently. At one point, I seriously considered going for one before deciding I’d rather have the full dresser and went for a last generation Gold Wing. If you’re seriously considering one, my big advice is to forget the Hondaline panniers - they’re small and expensive. One of the big pluses of this bike is that it’s a huge seller in Europe, so Givi makes racks for every year of production (2012–15 is one set, 2016-newer is another), and the racks will mount any and all bags the Givi makes or has made in their Monokey line. And Givi bags are completely unbeatable for long haul touring. Other than full dressers, if a bike doesn’t have Givi racks available, I write it off as a possibility.
