Please buy a different motorcycle. Royal Enfield motorcycles are made for a different purpose - to be rugged, simple, easy to repair, retro looking and suitable for relaxed riding - they are low tech and not at all for high speed riding (I consider anything above 140 kmph as quite high speed in Indian context). If you want a fast motorcycle on a lower budget, think of below options: Up to 150 kmph Apache 310RR Honda CBR250R Bajaj Dominar 150–180 kmph KTM Duke 390/RC 390 Kawasaki Ninja 300 with ABS (latest version) which is specifically launched as a Made in India bike at 2.98 L ex showroom price…This makes it a very good option Up to 200 kmph Kawasaki Z650, Ninja 650 Above 200 kmph, - This is the realm of super fast and super expensive bikes…The sky is the limit in this class as long as you have the money!! There are simply too many options and all of them are quite good in their own way in this class…Don’t buy these unless you are financially, mentally and physically ready plus your spouse and parents also are not opposing this !!

[A2A] Hello there. :) Though the 200NS would feel like an upgrade, it would not be much a jump. If your budget allows you to get the Duke 390, I would advice you to get it. The D390 is a perfect update. And no other bike is even close to it at that price point. It has a quick engine as you require and as quick as it is, it has enough stopping power too, with ABS aiding the braking. Also, since you have been riding the Unicorn and/or the RE, i'd suggest you to get the Duke 390 and not the RC390 since the RC is a race version would take time for you to get comfortable on it. Moreover, long tours would be a pain on the RC!

You really had a lot of enthusiasm to travel during your weekends even after commuting about 150+kms during the week. A 150cc bike is decent enough for your rides, other powerful bikes make you feel bad during the week days commuting through heavy city traffic, but you will feel happy during the weekends. One bike i would suggest is Yamaha FZ, it might suit your requirements ( pillion rider for weekend rides is not suggested ). or may be Suzuki Gixxer. I wouldn’t suggest Royal Enfield bikes because of poor servicing centers ( if you knew any mechanic personally, you can go for it ). Trips that i have done on bike during my stay at Bangalore. Bangalore - Tirupati ( Honda Dream Neo 110cc ) Bangalore - Mysore ( Yamaha FZ 150cc ) Bangalore - Nandi Hills ( Hero Splendor 98cc ) Bangalore - Lepakshi ( Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350cc ) Bangalore - Kurnool ( KTM Duke 200 ) Vishakapatnam-Vijayanagaram-Srikakulam ( KTM RC 390 ) I have covered about 24000 kms on bike ( Honda Dream Neo ) in year and half.

August is a good 5 months away,so there is every chance that new models may be launched by that time. Currently, you have a good number of options to choose from. Naked bike- Duke 200,Duke 390(2.2 lakhs on road) Faired- Pulsar RS 200,Honda Cbr 250R,RC 200 If you want outright performance,it has to be the duke twins. If you want an all rounder of sorts,both the cbr and rs 200 do good. If you want a track bike,then the RC 200. Other than these,there are Yamaha R-15, Honda CBR-150 r.Though these 2 bikes are good,they are only 150 cc and lack the performance of the above bikes. There is also a possibility that Pulsar CS 400 may be launched by that time.Best to wait till then.
Can I use Kawasaki Ninja 300 for touring? Which is best comfortable tourer ninja 300 or Yamaha R3 or KTM RC 390?
Disclaimer: I ride a Ninja 300 so my answers may be biased. KTM RC 390 is not meant for touring however duke 390 is the one meant for touring and it is far more suitable for touring than Kawi and Yam considering the road conditions across the country. Coming to Yam r3 and N300. The Yamaha R3 looks fat better on paper than the Ninja. However KAWASAKI has worked on the Ninja for so many years that it does not have any flaw left in it. Ninja is sweet revving machine with the parallel twin engine happily going to 11k rpm without passing any vibrations to the grip or the thighs. The handling is superb although I did feel some discomfort once at 140kmph once, which I found was due to the helmet which I upgraded and found that worked at 150 + as well without any challenge what so ever. Exclusivity: KAWASAKI only sells super bikes which means you are always treated as a priority customer compared to a Yamaha or a Honda where despite the premium bikes you ar made to wait in queue for flgetting the bike serviced. Yes the service is expensive for Kawasaki compared to Yamaha because Kawasaki service team treats your bike like their own with “love”. Overall the experience of owning a Ninja is unparalleled and the is no comparison with the KTM or Yamaha.

First of all, Don't compare bikes even in the same class(quarter litre,commuter)to one another They're built for specific purposes And stop this “duke” stigma, Dukes and RC's are purely race bred bikes that no one in his right mind would buy unless and until he aims big in race tracks,Same goes for R series bikes in yamaha and the cbr series in honda,Most of our citizens have this “herd mentality” and a bizarre trait of looks over purpose,these traits,coupled with a shitload of money results in purchases that prove to be future disasters,and it's no wonder that thousands of youngsters die everyday in accidents because of those purchases. Coming to the point,Cubic capacity of an engine is just an information,NOT THE DEFINITION. A royal Enfield having 350 cubic centimetres of engine capacity makes only 19bhp A R15 having 150 cubic centimetres of mill makes the same 19hp But they do at different rpm levels,The Enfield being a cruiser, arrives at 19bhp much earlier in the rev range The R15 being a sport offering,revs high and arrives at 19bhp at 8k rpm Similarly the duke produces 24.5 bhp and 20nm of torque being a street racing machine weighing in at 160 kgs The FZ25 is an all round performance offering producing 20 bhp and 20nm of torque,but weighing lower at just 150 kgs.The bigger engine capacity means that it can hold triples digits much longer without engine wear,unlike the duke which fries your legs after revving hard.
