Looking for best engine oil for your Honda Dio Scooter? you are at right place let me answer for your query. In most case, it is good to pour manufacturer recommended engine oil. The Honda Motors will recommend Honda Dio users to use ,Honda Genuine 10 W 30 Engine Oil. But as a user, i always recommend ,Motul Scooter LE 10W30 Engine Oil. ,Not just me, 1000 of user recommend the same Oil. If you want more options to choose, then check ,my article about 5 Best Engine oil for Honda Dio Scooter,. It will help you to choose the best. How to Choose Engine Oil? There are different types of Engine oils available in the market and sometimes it is hard to judge which engine oil should we use. Here Some points will help you to choose the right engine oil. #1. User manual. One thing that needs to remember before using the engine oil is we should read the manual and always follow the manufacturer's recommendation. #2. Types of Oil. Oils are not only used in the Engine of the scooter, as there are several parts in the scooter and every part requires different kinds of oil like break oil or clutch oil that can not be used in the engine. #3. Grading in Oil. There is 11 different viscosity grade in engine oil, You must have seen the “W” in the oil’s rating and number before or after it, like 5W, 10W are the single grade oil, and 10W30, 10W 40 are considered as Multi-grade oil. These numbers define the viscosity and thickness of the oil. #4. Synthetic or not. The oil companies claim that synthetic oils are last longer than any other engine oils. However, mineral oils are also the best option to use. If anyone is on the fence about synthetic engine oil, they can also go for semi-synthetic or mineral oil. What is the Recommended engine Oil Grade for Honda Dio? The recommended engine oil grade for Honda Dio is 10 W 30. As a friend, I advice you to use ,Motul Scooter LE 10W30 Engine Oil ,on you Honda Dio Scooter. I hope you like my answer, please up-vote and share it with your friends. See this map below? It's almost 300 kms of broken dual lane highway filled with heavy vehicles. I have traveled it multiple times without any break on you guessed it right, my Honda Dio. Another? This one is approx 450 kms dual carriage way smooth tarmac part of the golden quadrilateral, where you can easily maintain speeds of around 80 kmph even on a puny non geared scooter like the (guess again), Honda Dio. I have done it thrice with only 1 or 2 breaks at most. Even though the trips mentioned above are the exceptions, I'll maintain what I have said a few times in my previous answers, most of the modern machines no matter what their size are far more capable of handling long distance than the human body. If you have taken proper care of your bike and you are fit for the long ride, just hit that starter button & ride along. There's no need to worry. For further reference you can refer to ,Vishal Sharma's answer to I want to drive my bike up to 300km, but it is a gearless bike. How can I accomplish this?
I am a fan of the Honda Dio. Not because I used to ride one not long back but because of how reliable that little shit was. Ahhh the good memories. I don’t know where I would have been if not for that scooter. It got me through the toughest times. I trusted that scooter more than humans because it would never let me down. When there was no fuel, it would run on fumes and get me home. We didn’t need a car for 4 people the scooter was there to take us. Roads or no roads it kept on going without breaking a sweat. Handled like a charm that little thing. If there was a place you had to reach fast it would take you there before time. The storage space was enough to keep a helmet which would come out in view of cops and stored alcohol also perfectly. There were many accidents, the body was smashed, but with a little love it was as good as new. I don’t remember the time I had to change the tyres on that thing. It lasted 20K kilometers without engine oil before it finally seized and gave it’s life away. If there was one thing I was dissapointed with, it would be me for I was not capable of keeping it happy for all the selfless things she did. Get a Honda DIO, you will make memories.
Mechanically there's no difference between the 2 scooters you mention (assuming you are not talking about activa 125). The only difference being the body design & material which provides a slight difference in weight (around 4-5 kgs in wet weight, dio being the lighter one) which is of no significance in real world riding conditions. So I'd say buy whichever you like better in terms of looks. Again though a lot of people will tell you that dio will disintegrate faster because of plastic body, it's a load of bull. I own a dio & my father an activa & it all boils down to how you use & maintain it.
Thanks for A2A. I would prefer Honda Activa. The only reason I believe being practical for me is that, it has metal body which is way more convenient to handle in day to day life den a full fiber body(Honda-dio). If anything goes wrong and u had a crash den for DIO u gotta change the whole body panel. For style and trendy -Dio. For practicality- Activa. Both has same engine and same specification. Ride hard, ride safe wear Helmets!!
Yes, the Dio is a great Scooter overall. Pros: ,Light Weight, Very Durable Engine, Decent Mileage, Stylish, Good after sale service. ,Cons: ,Just one in my opinion, plastic body parts that are quite expensive. I owned a Dio for more than 7 Years. I bought mine in 2010, when it’s second edition was fresh on the streets. Despite unimaginable rough riding, crashes, tripling, Quadrupling, Pentapling My dio gave me 50,000+ KMs. There were times I forgot to change the engine oil for 3000+ KMs. But the engine stayed strong. (Don’t be like me, take care of your rides) I lived in a hostel for 4 years and had my Dio with me, almost my entire batch used to depend on my Dio and most of them rode it very rough. The Point I am writing all this is because my experience with the scooter has led me to strongly believe that it is a very reliable scooter due to its engine.
YOU CAN CHECK HONDA ACTIVA ,i., It is very easy to Handle. I'll tell you why my sister is about your height. 2 or 3 inches tall maybe. When we are looking for a scooty for her, we faced similar problems coz she isn't that strong to handle heavy scooters so I tried many scooters by taking her to dealers. Now every time she couldn't reach the floor after seating on the scooter. At last, after losing hope I took her to Honda showroom and asked her to try one by one all Honda scooters. At last, she told that she can handle activa I and we purchased it after that.she was only 43kgs at that time. Now she only knows how to ride it, but I and my father have to take her to her classes and other needs. So if she can ride that scooty you can ride that too. But I'm telling it from my experience never go with any heavy scooty which weights more than 120+kgs if you are purchasing it for the first time. Edit- Finally found the photos. Thanks for reading. ~Alok~
I own a Honda Dio 2015 model (HET), during the first six months I use to care my scooter very well in terms of servicing and maintenance, also I was not speeding above 60 km/hr on most of my rides and so it use to give me a mileage of 57 kms/LTR , eventhough I considerably decreased the way I care my scooter, I don't speed much and also I change engine oil at regular intervals, so even after 3 years my mileage falls somewhere between 50 to 55 kms/LTR which is satisfactory when compared to other scooters of this range. Thank you!
