I'll be talking to @PatKennyNT on @NewstalkFM tomorrow after 11 on how #Covid19 is impacting on motoring in Ireland, car factory closures across Europe and how one Chinese Carmaker, Geely, could give Europe's automakers a lesson in beating #coronavirus https://t.co/C8q25Y8mPl

Review Q&A geely ireland

What are stereotypes of drivers of various car brands?

*I based the stereotypes below, from my observations of the last names for owner’s of various makes and models and who I have met, so the stereotypes I focused upon were ancestries; which I have noticed has an influence on the purchasing choice that people make about their vehicles; but it is not implied to be 100% accurate. This writing peace is intended for entertainment purposes only.* Ford:, Many buyers of U.S. nationality share a similar Irish-American heritage with Henry Ford, who created the assembly line. The second largest buying ethnic group is likely British Americans, and they feel a sense of patriotism because of the topographic similarities of their heritages with Ireland. Their shared United States citizenship, and similar ethnic proximity, creates feelings of kinship with an automotive manufacturer that is owned in the U.S.A. Various ethnic groups buy from Ford Motor Company because they helped the Allies during WWII. U.S. citizens likely choose to buy a Ford because they are an automotive manufacturer which is owned in the U.S.A., and that provides salaries for U.S. workers; and there are those who prefer their products, their most popular models are the Mustang and Ford F-150, both vehicles are iconic for their superb styling, high horsepower, and modest costs compared to their competition. GMC/Chevrolet/Buick/ Lincoln etc.:, U.S. born citizens who purchase these cars are typically Western European Americans whose ancestries are from these regions (France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland plus other nations nearby are part of this region), and they share similar heritages with William C. Durant (Durant had French ethnicity and was the creator of GMC) was born in the United States. Louis Chevrolet was a U.S. citizen, and of Swiss heritage (he is the creator of Chevrolet); and he shares a similar kinship with the above European ethnic groups, so they feel a sense of patriotism for the U.S.A as Americans. In the U.S.A., those with Northern European ancestries typically choose GMC brands for their proximity with the nations of France and Switzerland, so they feel a kinship with William Durant and Louis Chevrolet. Many Americans buy them because they helped the Allies during WWII. U.S. citizens likely choose to buy a GMC and Chevrolet because they are an automotive manufacturer which is owned in the U.S.A., and they provide salaries for many U.S. workers; and then there are those who prefer their products, their most popular models are the Camaro, Corvette and Silverado, all three vehicles are iconic for their superb styling, high horsepower, and modest costs compared with their competition. Cadillac:, British, Irish, and after the GMC takeover many are of Western European-Americans, Russian and Eastern European Americans born in the U.S.A grew up to choose Cadillac because they wanted an American luxury-car, and for similar ethnic reasons as mentioned for Ford, GMC/Chevrolet. Cadillac involvement was from William Murphy, Lemuel Bowen, and Henry Leland who were of English and Irish ancestries. Many Americans of various ethnic backgrounds buy a Cadillac because they helped the Allies during WWII (their are WWII war posters illustrating a Tank and Cadillac is written above it for the title because many Cadillac motors were installed), and it is owned by an American corporation. Then there are those who prefer their products. Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz:, People of U.S. nationality whose ancestries are predominately of German-American heritages. Some enjoy the prestige and status symbol that tells people they are wealthy. Many prefer the German engineering developments; and many German-Americans, have an affinity for Germany because of their shared ancestries; and there are those who prefer their products. Volkswagen:, The same as Audi and BMW etc. above. Volkswagen is similar to the popularity of a Honda for many German-Americans because many buyers are likely lower and middle income earners and they have an affinity for Germany; and there are those who prefer their products. The Volkswagen Beetle, Golf, and Jetta are three popular models chosen for their styling, fuel efficiency and lower costs. Fiat Motors: Fiat/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram etc.:, Many buyers of U.S. nationality are Southern European-Americans (Spain and Italy are part of these regions), and who enjoy buying them because of their ethnic similarities with the Italian car manufacturer Fiat; Some people drive their brands for the lifetime-warranty offered through Chrysler. Many Americans prefer their products for their styling, brand images and modest costs. Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Honda:, Many buyers of U.S. nationality have Japanese and Asian heritages; Americans of various ethnic groups believe that they have superior quality with lower prices than their U.S. competitors; and there are those who prefer their products. Subaru:, Similar reasons as the above mentioned Japanese automobiles; however, many in the U.S.A. prefer Subaru’s symmetrical AWD systems because of the traction abilities, and the affordability of buying turbocharged cars; and there are those who prefer their products. Hyundai/Kia:, Many buyers of U.S. nationality have Korean-American and Asian heritages, and Americans who purchase only for the lower prices with a longer standard factory-warranty than their competitors; and there are those who prefer their products. Volvo:, Many buyers of U.S. nationality are of Swiss or Western European and Asian ancestries. Swiss and Western European Americans typically bought the vehicle because of their shared ancestries, and the reputation of Volvo being a safe car; however, many are not aware the company was sold to, Geely, which is an automotive company located in China; as a result, many U.S. customers are likely confused about whether Volvo is Swiss owned and a subsidiary of Geely with partial ownership, or if Volvo is owned and controlled by Geely 100%; in the future, most buyers will likely be of Asian-American heritages, people seeking a safe car and people who prefer their products.
