I'm planning to Lease Mini Cooper Countryman PHEV. My other option would be Toyota Corola HEV. Which one would you prefer?
As a BEV owner, I would choose neither. No idea why you are choosing hybrids; range anxiety, towing capacity, fear? I wont begin to tell you which one of the two but just suggest you consider the BEV - 2020 Mini and Toyota models and any other BEV models that you didnt consider in the first place because they weren't hybrids. I have enjoyed 3+ years of not visiting a gas station and dramatically lower maintenance costs and wont go back. Hope this helps

If you’re buying it to sell, or expect it to increase in value, no. If you’re buying it to drive, go online and check it’s resale value. Then have it evaluated by a competent mechanic. If it needs any work, find that price also. If the car was driven the average 15,000 miles a year it should have 135,000 miles on it. That’s on the high side, and should count towards a lower price. I think the price is too high. If the car is clean and in good shape mechanically I think a thousand to fifteen hundred off the asking price is more in line with reality. If it needs major repairs, that should be taken into consideration also. In the end, you’ve seen the car, I haven’t. It’s your money and your decision. Do your homework and choose wisely.

But unfortunately this segment is slowly dying due to availability of cars from manufactures like Audi, BMW and Mercedes in this price range. Customers are finding cars like Audi A3 and Mercedes CLA more appealing. But if badge value is not your primary concern then Škoda Superb and Volkswagen Passat are good options. If you go online you will see aftermarket ones and ratings for them for payout. You will want the one that either has a “named exclusions” listed with exactly what parts are not covered. Or if not, one that is fully inclusive like a Platinum level not lower level like Gold or Silver etc. IF you can arrange financing through your credit union they usually offer very good ones of high quality for lower prices. Be careful if you purchase one from a dealer that is not from The Warranty Group or Fidelity. Check their ratings online for payout before signing anything. Also pick a low deductible as you will probably use the plan more than once over it’s life expectancy. Despite what many think these plans can easily pay for themselves multiple times over as long as you pick a good one that covers virtually all non wear and tear normal service items.
