Initial price is 2,12,000 inr.Add another 15000 inr per year on servicing after you complete 2 years or so. You can maintain any maruti car at that price. The RE authorised service centres also charge around 3500 on an average which is too much for what is delivered. Spares of RE are very costly. BENELLI will cost more. Besides HERO motors, I cant think of any honest manufacturer. Unfortunately they don't have big bikes in their stable. Servicing at an Italian manufacturers service centre is like eating the same street pizza in an Italian Restaurant. Don't expect spares to be cheap.
Well well well, here we go. Current Indian market has 3 neo retro bikes. Royal Enfield 350- Really a sweet dinosaur. A living vintage with the same specs from decades. This bike will always put a smile on the face by reminding the 60's bullet. A classic time machine. But this cannot be compared with any bikes of today's market. This is of its own class. But fact is it is underpowered bike for its price in all the factors. Jawa - Is a modern retro bike. Nothing carried from the past. It has a engine of a modern sports bike under jawa's clothes. This is bike that a young rider with some retro preference would like.This can compete with bikes of its price range. In other words, Jawa is a fast bike. It doesn't like to be ridden slow. Imperiale - Is a new face in India. Thought in italy and bought to India via china. The engine is a mix of torque and power. Can be ridden slowly and also fast. It is a mix of RE & Jawa. The engine configuration is simple as bullet and not that modern as jawa. This is the special place of Imperiale, a better RE but less agressive and less modern than Jawa. Cheers!
Imperial is a modern overhead cam engine like Japanese bikes. The bullet series are old fashioned pushrod long stroke engines which produce thump with sluggish acceleration. Benelli had to be quicker minus the thump. With silencers being banned thump doesn't make a difference as essence of bullet is thump. Bullet has better service network. And easier to repair. I would buy std 500 as its cheaper to maintain. Buy foreign bikes only if can afford their maintenance
I bought my Imperiale 400 in mid December 20… after being in research mode for several months. And my primary purpose is touring…. But let me also qualify the specific needs: I'm 49… and past the need for a mean, howling machine… I'm very happy with a sedate mile- muncher that's non fussy and easy to maintain… I don't intend serious off-roading…and will be doing a lot of solo rides. Hence the Bemelli Imperiale 400… Excellent build quality and a premium finish… great looks, extremely refined and responsive engine, simple maintenance and all functions well engineered and great performers. So…. Not really worried about breakdowns and niggling issues. And oh yes…perfectly slotted gear box and a totally non vibey ride…just a really nice, low, throaty growl when you turn the throttle…makes me a Cheshire cat every time!!;-) and I had no problem cruising between 90 and 100 kmph on my last ride…475 km…8 hours of non tiring, fun ride! ( Delhi to Fatehpur Sikri and back) The ride quality and posture is perfect for long rides… it can carry a good amount of luggage, has a brilliant headlamp..no need to aux lights… and suspension is perfectly set up for highway cruising with a bit of rough roads thrown in. Now for the wish list…. I love the spoke wheels… but I do wish they had a tubeless set up.. it'll possibly be my one and only modification… puncture repair otherwise can take the fun out of touring…. I wish the gears were longer…. The bike does need up and down shift to compensate for speed changes… And yeah…. The accessory market hasn't warmed up yet… looking out for balck aluminium panniers and top box… Otherwise… a brilliant ,,value for money purchase. Service quality is good and I spent 1350 on the 1000 km service including oil change. So yeah…. If you're looking for a trustworthy, comfortable, refined easy touring machine…. This is the best one at this price point! ( 2.47 lacs on road , Delhi)
Surely yes because Benelli is an Italian company which does not have vibrations for sure. Benelli has fans because of its exhaust sound. This one is less power compare to Jawa but to be a premium class; people will prefer Benelli.
It's a long stroke engine like bullet. But it's valves are operated by a chain like modern bikes and not pushrods like bullet. It would be sluggish like the bullet but smoother as its not a pushrod engine. Don't expect dug dug thump. But it will have a better exhaust than sports bikes like jawa and interceptor. I don't read reviews as most consumers compare eggs with apples. HThe specifications are the same as bullet 20 horses at app 5000rpm.

Jawa is fastest among 3 RE the vibrator Benelli slowest among 3 Jawa shortest among 3 RE normal height Benelli tallest among 3 Jawa exhaust sounds good among 3 RE noisy Benelli sounds less Best pick is not among 3 because with 1 L more you can buy a RE continental which feels like riding Harley. Only the best bike lovers buy 650. Jawa is great in its looks and exhaust sound. Benelli engine is good but some heating problem., If you are a Benelli lover like me wait for 530cc imperiale if not 600RR. If prefer RE 350., buy a single seat straight long handle bars which is in store customized in showroom.
