Hi, I own a Honda Hornet(CBS version) and I have been using it only for long rides as I use company vehicle during weekdays. If you are looking for long rides upto 350 km on a decent road condition then Hornet does well with a speed range from 85–100 km/h. I had been to Hampi from Bangalore which is approx 410 km and I was able to enjoy a good ride. Though you may not feel as sturdy compared to Royal Enfield Bullet you will be more satisfied w.r.t Fuel efficiency with Hornet. I also had similar question about Hornet but now I feel happy to have this bike. If you are looking to cruise more than 100 km/h speed then you can consider still more heavy vehicle(ex: Bullet, Bajaj Dominar, CBR 250…..) so that you will have confidence to have good control over the vehicle at higher speeds. If you compare 150 - 160 cc vehicle segment, Hornet does pretty well on smoothness and Fuel efficiency. Do not think much, go enjoy the ride. Cheers! This is my first answer on Quora. Kindly oblige for any grammatical errors. Also I forgot to add this: Kindly add these onto the handle bar so that weight of the handle increases and vibration gets reduced. You can get this in any local two wheeler spare parts shop. Ask for Pulsar or Apache handle type.

The two bike are completely different and they’re not even at same price point. But that being said the Yamaha FZ25 is the best value for moeny in the 200–250 cc segment and the Honda Hornet is one of the best bike in the 150–160 cc bike apart from Suzuki Gixxer.
Hondda Shine,Honda Hornet under budget segment, and rest u get in KTM bikes, and in Honda CBR 250R .I owe one CBR 250.
I'd suggest the CBR 250. Even the Royal Enfield range is good. Maintenance-wise, the Honda is leagues ahead of the Enfields. Those are from my experience with these bikes. You could also look at the Suzuki Gixxer 150 or the Honda Hornet, Bajaj Avenger.
Exactly same way the of CBR 250. Tool kit is not given, you have to visit service center ask to use CBR tool to adjust.
A great bike but overpriced when you consider its entering Duke 390 territory The bike has everything you would need and more infact, its basically better version of CBR250R without fairing. It comes with great power to weight ratio, has digital cluster and the neo retro looks that are really cool. I haven’t ridden it obviously but having almost 8 years of experience with CBR I can tell you its not gonna disappoint anyone if they don’t mind the price. Things I like Bike weighs just 143 Kgs that’s just 5 Kgs more than Honda Hornet to give a perspective. 30 Bhp of power and 27 Nm of torque means engine will be buttery smooth and not stressed out. Instrument cluster is good looking. Build quality looks better than current CBR250R. Honda’s reliability and refinement will be present no doubt. BS6 ready (I might be wrong but lets hope so). Just like CBR250R it will have dedicated mechanics trained by Honda and special service bay area enclosed to keep dust away from rest of service area. Things I don’t like Price just doesn't make sense as it has same specifications as Duke 250 but price close to Duke 390 but because it comes via CKD route unless like KTM which is manufactured in India this is inevitable. Tiny fuel tank of 10 liters (seriously what’s Honda thinking). Wish it had LCD instrument cluster just to justify that pricing. Would I recommend ? If this is your first 200–300 cc bike which you need looks decent (for office attire) and don’t mind less power than D390 then yes and that initial cost of purchase will definitely pay off over the time I’m telling this from experience because I spent around 2 lakhs in 2011 for CBR still that bike puts smile on my face. If this is not your first 200–300 cc bike then don’t go for it for example existing CBR owners or Pulsar NS200 owners etc.
