A lot of people make the “haha it’s a BMW Z4 Coupe” joke about the Supra, but it’s definitely valid. It has great power and handling characteristics — just like the Z4 — but I actually think I like this one a little better. Slightly more tossable. I’m into it. @roadshow https://t.co/bd5gJXHsPN

Review Q&A bmw z4 jokes

What are you driving and what is your dream car?

Since I am only a college student and unemployed here in Philippines I drive my parents subcompact Honda City 2003 Manual Transmission. This is the car were I learned to drive. I know most of you are not familiar with this Honda because this not known worldwide. This is a economy car so it is built for point A to B, fuel efficiency, and practicality. It is a 17 year old family car and it has more than 100k in its odo so it already had a lot of repairs yet we maintained to its good condition. It already traveled more than 10 road trips since it was brand new. I am a car lover since I was a child when I started collecting hot wheels, matchbox, die cast. So here my dream cars or the cars I like to own someday. Most of my dream cars are classics and modern mixed in the Japanese, European, and American segment. I will not mention all. Porsche Carrera/911 - I am a fan of Porsche since I was a child. They are one of the legends in the sports car segment. What I like most is they maintained their design and purpose up to the current models. Whenever I see a Porsche in the street my head turns and always tell my parents I like to own someday. I had a lot of couple of die cast Porsche when I was a child. I know the price of a Porsche especially to third world countries is not a joke but is still my best favorite car and still hoping to own one. Mazda Mx5 NA and ND - For me, this is the most possible dream car I can acquire in a couple of years because of its price and one of the sports car that is affordable. Roadster is my most favorite type of car because I feel it's cool to own a two seater convertible car and I love driving in curvy roads. For me, the Mazda Mx5 NA and ND is the best roadster because of its affordability and it is well known to have the best handling in cornering. Also, all 4 generation released maintained the purpose of the Miata to be a fun affordable roadster. I fell in love with this because my grandfather used to own a NA and started knowing this car. Mini - Also one of my childhood favorite car. I fell in love with the car after watching Mr. Bean and Italian Job when I was a child. I find the design of a Mini cute and unique. What I mean is that the design of this car attracts a lot of audience whether you are a kid, teenager, adult, and senior. I remember I ate in a restaurant here in Manila, Philippines and there is a couples of Mini ranging from classics to the modern ones parked and they are a lot of people taking picture with the car from kids to adults. That just proves the appeal of the design of Mini is unique and attractive to a lot of audience. Another thing, they maintained their well known design and purpose of their brand. Also, they are one of the icon in the automotive industry and racing. You can use a Mini as a everyday car if you don't have a big family, track car, and show car whether it is a classic or modern Mini. I prefer the classics models when BMW is not owned by Mini. Volkswagen Classics (Beetle, Golf, Kombi) - I fell in love with the Volkwagen after watching Herbie and having a VW Beetle and Kombi die cast. I like the Beetle and Kombi mainly because of its timeless design. I fell in love with Golf MK1 after watching a show in Discovery Turbo that restoring a Gold MK1 and they transformed into a sports car and started searching the capabilities of a Golf in the internet. I find also find the design of a a Golf MK1 unique. BMW - One of my favourites since I was a child after I fell in love seeing a Z4. I am a fan of German cars but for me BMW is the best among its competitors because of its combination cool design, luxury, and fun to drive cars. All of their from their low end 1 series up to their high end cars the purpose of owning a BMW is there. Like what I said, the Z4 e85 is the reason why I love BMW and became more curious to this brand as I grew up. My favorite or dream BMW is the Z4 e85, M3 e30, 6 series e24, 2002. Suzuki Jimny I am also a fan of Defender, G Wagon, Land Cruiser, and Wrangler but my most favorite 4x4 car is the Jimny. The Jimny proves to be a easy and reliable to use off road vehicle. It is small but terrible. You can use it in the city, dessert, and forest. Datsun/Fairlady Z - My most favorite classic JDM. I fell in love this car after watching Wangan and playing Midnight Club in the arcade. The design its timeless and I am sure this classic can compete with the modern ones in its segment Toyota Celica A20 - I love this classic because of its timeless design and have a resemblance of a Mustang. Many car enthusiasts said that this Celica is the Japanese version of the Mustang.

Why is the new 2020 Toyota Supra receiving so much hate?

Because it’s a big joke, the car is heavily based on the BMW Z4, and it’s extremely obvious. The interior looks nothing different to a Z4, like what on earth is Toyota thinking? It’s unbelievable. What happened to the Toyota reliability? I always used to see Toyota as a maverick brand, but now to see a car heavily based on a BMW shows that Toyota is desperate, and they want high power, quality and driving pleasure to increase the number of customers. But by doing this, they just drove me away. Now they’re doing the BMW collab for the Supra, what next? Mercedes G class collaboration for the Land Cruiser? Sorry if it sounds like I’m taking this personally, but I used to look up to Toyota, however lately they’ve been releasing very weird cars (The CHR was weird imo), and the Supra just killed it all.

Which car is the most luxurious car in the world?

Wow! great question. Let’s get into the nitty gritty. many people may argue McLaren, Bugatti, Koenigsegg… Skip to the conclusion if you don’t want to read my part, but a fair warning, it’s lame. I’d like to advocate for one brand. W Motors, is essentially, a Middle-Eastern Luxury car brand that makes some ridiculous cars. They do lots of research in the Automotive industry, but most people know them for their one car, and the successor to that car. You might not recognize the name, but you’ll recognize the next car from a very big movie. The Lykan HyperSport This $3.4 million dollar beast was limited to 7 worldwide, one of which is owned by Vin Diesel himself. And yup, that’s where you know the car from. Furious seven showed this car doing this ridiculous stunt… Vin Diesel proved to us in this scene that yes, cars can fly Paul. (RIP❤️) But anyways, Vin Diesel drove that Lykan Hypersport through a window from one skyscraper through a window into another skyscraper. How was this possible? Well I’ll explain why. side note: of course those last couple sentences were a joke, that was all CGI. Below are the specs of the Lykan HyperSport! The Lykan HyperSport sports a 3.7L Twin-Turbocharged Flat 6 with 780 Horsepower and 708 pound feet of torque. It came in a 6 speed sequential or 7 speed dual clutch transmission. It’s rear wheel drive and, oh yeah before I forget, it has headlights embedded with 420 DIAMONDS. Yup, DIAMONDS. It’s safe to say that this car is a beast, and it’s ridiculous. But how about it’s successor? Fenyr SuperSport The Fenyr SuperSport, ,is the ,successor ,to the Lykan, and it does an alright job at that. At $1.9 million, this car is extremely cheaper and better then the Lykan. Side note: From what I can see, only 25 exist, however production numbers vary and information isn’t very similar between Wikipedia and other sources The Fenyr sports once again, a 3.7L Twin-Turbocharged Flat Six with 799 Horsepower and 723 pound feet of torque. It sports a 7-speed PDK Dual Clutch transmission and has a Limited Slip Differential whilst transferring power to the back wheels. In Conclusion To be totally honest, W Motors is a beast in itself, making a few other vehicles as well. One of which was made for the Dubai police and was nicknamed the “Ghiath”, but it never saw REAL production numbers. W motors is one of the more expensive car companies worldwide, but definitely not the most. However, the most expensive car company ever is actually obvious, being ,Toyota at 211 billion,. That’s lame, I mean look at this BMW Z4.

Why are German cars widely recognised, though their reliability is much worse than their Japanese premium counterparts like Lexus?

My BMW fires up every time I push "start" and it still drives like butter after 120k miles! It's our family car, and we still feel confident and safe in it. The iron inline six is a stout and reliable engine. BMW kept making inline 6's when everyone else stopped. Fast forward a bit and Toyota ended up chosing BMW to make the new Supra. Fancy that. There will always be the fact that the Germans, specifically Carl Benz, ,invented the automobile. Let's talk about Le Mans. Many people have heard of it, but not everyone knows what it is. Le Mans is a grueling 24-hour endurance race. One that has long been dominated by the Germans. We're talking about a racing team that runs a car full throttle around an 8.5 mile track non-stop (aside from pit stops) for 24 hours. There is no shortage of high speed straights, requiring a fast and ,very reliable car. So I have a little bit of trouble seeing German cars as "extremely unreliable" because I have real world experience that proves that sentiment wrong. If the Germans have such a reliability problem, why did Toyota, the so called "king of reliability" opt to have their new Supra built on the BMW Z4 platform? The joke is calling the new Supra a "Zupra" because it's a Z4 underneath! A Toyota sports car with a BMW engine. Chew on that for a while. Technically it's a BMW redesigned and tuned by Toyota. Toyota built the legendary 2jz engine. Why didn't they recreate it? Toyota chose BMW because they are confident in their craftsmanship. BMW makes "the ultimate driving machine". If the Germans have such a reputation for unreliable cars compared to the Japanese, why is Porsche consistently at the top in terms of reliability along with Toyota & Lexus? The Germans began constructing the Autobahn in the 1930's. Then they decided to start doing high speed runs for shits and giggles. In 1938 they set out in a Mercedes W125 and achieved a top speed record of 268mph! That car had an inline 8! Fun fact: BMW made airplane engines before being forced to make only cars and motorcycles. VW was started as a car "for the people" of Germany during WWII. Now the VW group is the largest autogroup on the planet. They own Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bugatti to name a few. So while Toyota/Lexus makes very nice and very reliable cars, they simply are not on the same level as the Germans in many ways. The LC500 is a great start though! Cheers 🍻

What are the advantages of having a BMW engine in the 2020 Supra?

None. Zero advantage. You have a Toyota badge which is supposed to be known for reliability and economy but instead you get zero Toyota R&D but a BMW Engine and drivetrain which are know to be unreliable money pits. In other words, you have the the worse of both worlds. The new Supra is a sick Joke of the Century. The real production Supra should have full body lines and aesthetically pleasing like the FT-1 prototype, instead of the Horror Show that we are having now. There is nothing reliable about BMW, except that, its only reliable once the sensors are replaced and it will plague you like a constant money pit, just like Mercedes and any other continental cars. Enthusiasts are looking for a MK4 2.0, whether its V6 or whatever doesn't matter, not a Z4/Miata/86 rolled into one. Not only does the final Supra look achingly awful, its like Kevin Levrone's failed 2017 Mr. Olympia comeback, all HYPE. The GTR evolved gradually til the R34 275/330hp and finally into a 600HP monster to exactly what fellow enthusiasts want with their earlier mods. The same with Ducati sportsbike as well as Harleys, which all evolved into the ideal image, technical specs, branding and power that enthusiasts are looking for. Yes, perception matters, name matters. Those who argue and keep harping about its original 'stock' intent being a family coupe, mid-price range, collaboration and all that BS is missing the point, Toyota should do likewise and not going backwards, like South Africa. Talking about its positive aspects is completely meaningless in this regard. When R35 was finally revealed, its God-send. Now this is straight from Hell. When there are overwhelming criticisms, the manufacturers should better take heed. This is what Microsoft thought too when they released the Windows 8 with feverish justifications which turned out to be pure nonsense to force-feed their own agenda into consumers to sell the Windows Phone, look what happened. Business is about listening to customer's voice and feedback, nothing to do with who builds what. No matter how the marketeers try to justify it, consumers can smell something awry straight away. If Toyota continues to ignore that, Supra will be another one that bites the dust.

The new Toyota Supra was (mostly) developed by BMW, Toyota is known for bullet-proof reliability, BMW is in the opposite spectrum, what should we expect in terms of long-term reliability?

The new Supra is a sick Joke of the Century. The real production Supra should have full body lines and aesthetically pleasing like the FT-1 prototype, instead of the Horror Show that we are having now. Would Japan allow Honda and Toyota to merge?

Well Toyota is the Japanese largest Auto manfacture there quality is seCond to to none, Honda Production of quality of vechiles is all like Nissan and Mitsubishi tought unlike them Honda has been in more recent years. They made crappy vechiles the joke of the HRV with us decade old 1800 cc I-vtec it on parwith motors 15 year old 4B10 and 4B11. Don’t get me started with the oil dilution issuses with the 1500 Vtec turbo it’s a joke I feel sorry for the people who brought the models of Civic and CRV with though Engine. Though Toyota has had quality control issuse to the oil burning issuse of the 2.4 litre 4 cylinder from 07 to 12. Honda did have balls to bring back the NSX, the A90 Supra is a restyled BMW Z4 it’s shares thr engine transmission And the chassis, Toyota They lied about it power output like BMW fashion it’s makes over 300 kw at the crank not 250 kw. People have issuse with the rebagded GT86 which is actually SubAru BRZ the FA20 Engine has valve train issuses. I understand it’s bisnuiess though had Toyota lost there way like Honda has, Toyota Yaris is actually a Mazda 2 so there subcompact cars not even there now either.

Which sports car would you buy, 2020 Corvette Stingray (C8), 2020 Toyota Supra, 2020 BMW Z4 or 2020 Porsche 911 C4S (992)?

Corvette, It will be the faster in every way than all the others. HOW CAN YOU EVEN COMPARE THE CORVETTE TO THE REST!?!? A 3 SECOND 0–60 IS NO JOKE. As well as AMAZING handling. The previous corvette with front engine was already amazing on the track, But now a MID-ENGINE corvette with the roar of a Naturally Aspirated V8. there is really no comparison, the Corvette will hands-down wipe the floor with these plebes. The ONLY one that is EVEN CLOSE to the corvette is the Porsche 911 Carrera 4s. the 2020 Toyota Supra IS a 2020 BMW Z4. That supra is a bastardized version of the legendary Supra we all know. Both of which aren’t even meant to compete in the same League as the Corvette and Porsche. By ALL definitions the new Corvette IS a SUPERCAR. It is WAY deep into supercar territory and was wiping the floor of the track with pedegree supercars in 2018 with a front engined variant. The Porsche 911 is not, the 911 turbo or S just barely makes the cut into supercar territory. this isn’t even a competition, it’s a beat down sponsored by Chevy.

Psychology of Everyday Life: What are some cool examples of men will be men?

This happened a couple of months ago. Me and a friend of mine were going to a restaurant when we started discussing about how no girl could ever get a perfect rating of 10 because there will always be a hotter girl somewhere. When we reach the restaurant my friend suddenly exclaims, "She is surely a 10!" I looked to where he was pointing and I see a BMW Z4 parked in front of us.

What are the worst cars to buy in 2021?

Here are some cars I will mention, that I consider worst of 2021: The DS 9, just what exactly were the PSA group thinking? Bring the DS 9 as a successor of the legendary Citroen DS, CX, XM, and C6? I know what they tried to do there, but they did it wrong. The DS 9 is EXPENSIVE, the same price as a Merc E Class. Plus they only build the DS 9 in China, not in France, so where exactly is the French charm? and Pride? Who exactly are they targeting as customers? Rare Citroen DS fanboys? Reliability is also questionable. The DS Automobiles brand is pretty young, therefore I’m not so sure their reliability is on par with Mercedes, BMW and Audi. The Toyota Supra. Yes, you read it. Basically it’s a BMW Z4 with an ugly Toyota skin on top, and it’s one of the biggest automotive jokes in the 21st century. Toyota was always known to stick to it’s own technologies, but here it looks like Toyota being desperate. It’s also the same price as a BMW Z4. If you want a drift machine or some sport coupe, buy a Nissan GTR, a BMW Z4 or even a Mazda MX5! The Volkswagen Up. It’s pretty obvious by now that German brands are very bad at doing A segment cars, yet VW did the Up because of competition. The VW Up looks ugly, the interior doesn’t feel as appealing as the new Toyota Aygo, Fiat 500 or Renault Twingo. Tesla cars, they are just overrated, overhyped and not as promising as the German brands. Smart cars, why exactly does Mercedes own that abomination brand? Smart builds small city cars, they had a history for reliability issue, and today their parts are heavily Renault-sourced… Why buy a Smart for the city when you can buy something more fun to drive and city friendly too. Mitsubishi and Subaru (maybe), it all depends on your location, but here in Belgium, these two brands have lost public presence, plus they don’t offer interesting cars as other companies do. The list can go on, but here are my thoughts.
