This Automatic Toyota Yaris With a Corolla Engine Is a Shockingly Fun Sleeper https://t.co/jHn2bYCHTo https://t.co/E60jktURec
2015 European styled Toyota Yaris is a sleeper and will surprise you http://t.co/VPC4rRurND
i wanna make a sleeper toyota yaris but im scared i'd just get stuck in traffic
i really wanna get a 3 door toyota yaris or something and tune the SHIT out of it. slap a turbo on it. talk about the ultimate sleeper car.
Toyota Yaris with a K20 swap........interesting #kseries #Ktuned #Toyota #K20 #sleeper ? http://t.co/MuPefVK6Mx
Sometimes I think about the first time I went to IKEA and saw a man and woman in the parking lot struggling to fit a midsize sleeper sofa into the back of a Toyota Yaris.
It will sort of do that for you if the traction battery fails. You would not want it though. It will still be trying to keep the battery in the middle of its charge range, but it will run its engine continuously trying to do that. It will still function, that is the engine will drive one of the two traction motor/generators as a generator which will power the other one to drive the car, but very poorly. What many people do not realize is that the Toyota Yaris and the Prius use the same engine block, at least in the Generation II version I once owned. So perhaps with some hotrod type of shoehorning, cutting the wheel wells and other engine mount adaptations maybe a transplanted front wheel drive system from a junkyard Yaris could work? There may be other front wheel drive Toyotas with engine/transaxle systems that could fit. You definitely do not want to try and remove the power electronics and processors without also replacing the whole Prius engine and transaxle, as there is no multi-speed gearbox to hook up to. Exhaust connections may all wrong too. When all is said and done you will have a much worse car, unless making a true “sleeper” hotrod at any expense is the aim. If you were trying to somehow salvage a Prius with a wonky traction battery that you got cheap, well, they do sell replacements for those for a lot less money than I think any effort to make a conversion to a standard ICE vehicle would cost, unless you got lucky and found that a Yaris was a drop in replacement the way that some other manufacturers do with their hybrid versions of popular models they sell.
I have a 40ft super C based on a 1985 Kenworth 90″ Aerodyne cabover with 32ft living space behind and the original bunk bed sleeper in the cab converted to my office. The interior has 8.5ft ceiling with the first 2ft being basement. This is the only motorhome I’ve ever seen with a basement that’s accessed from inside the motorhome. AND I have a 13ft separate garage in the back for a Toyota Yaris. My bedroom is over the garage with 5ft headroom. Nothing beats the accessibility of a cabover to the engine and transmission. I currently have a 40ft transit bus conversion I just got tired of everything being crammed into a small space. The Kenworth both has easy access and any mechanic can work on it. With my air ride cab and 8 air bag rear suspension, it rides just like any other motorhome. And with my forward facing camera with 46″ TV as my virtual front facing windshield, I loose nothing.
Since the typical car today has somewhere between 100HP and 250HP, then 50HP will noticeable. But a 10% difference in power won’t, so if you already have 500HP on tap, another 50 will only be noticeable with a stopwatch. Adding 50% power to a light car like a Nissan Versa or Toyota Echo/Yaris would turn it into a high-performance sleeper.
